rosalind pouliot obituary

Rosalind Pouliot

THIS OBITUARY WAS FIRST PUBLISHED IN OUR
SEPTEMBER 2007 CATALOG

August 25, 2007

Eight months ago today, on Christmas, my little daughter Bernadette died. We informed our readership about our grief and situation. Because of our appeal at that time, we were sent much help and consolation. In our April catalogue we thanked all of you who came to our assistance.

Since then, many have been asking about my wife’s condition. On August 2nd, the feast of the great St. Alphonsus Liguori, she passed away at 3:45 am, here at our home. Four years ago, Rosalind held our little Alphonsus in her arms as he died. Perhaps he was holding out his arms for her on that day as she passed from this valley of tears into another world.

Rosalind was buried on August 11th, the birthday of our little Bernadette. Bernadette would have been 7 years old on that day, if she had not died on December 25th. Perhaps on that day, Rosalind had a spiritual birthday with all the children we lost.

God’s mysterious ways of taking his creatures from us is unknown to us. That it happened is undeniable. Why He has done it is not clear. In supernatural terms, one could say it is to purify us, the living, who knew and loved Bernadette and Rosalind. But on the natural level, it doesn’t make sense. All we can say with the eyes of faith is what Mary said: “Be it done unto me according to Thy word.”

We ask for your prayers. Pray for the repose of Rosalind’s soul. Pray for me. I still have 5 children under 20 years old that have to be educated. And pray for the work we are doing.

< Rosalind's Solemn High Requiem Mass

On that note, our work was given a boost on July 7, the same time my wife was undergoing her own particular agony and passion. On that date, Benedict XVI issued his long awaited motu proprio, Summorum Pontificum. Since then we have been distributing a great deal of literature on the Latin mass, particularly Fr O’Connell’s The Celebration of Mass and Fr. Weller’s Roman Ritual And we are in the process of printing up more books pertaining to that venerable liturgy. Currently we have printed up the Low Key Accompaniment to the Vatican Kyriale. Moreover, we are working on the Propers for the Sunday Masses And Feasts. Both these books will be a great asset to the restoration of Sunday high Gregorian Masses. Also, we are working on a deluxe Missale Romanum, that is an altar missal for the use of clergy at the altar. This should prove to be a very exceptional and beautiful book, worthy of the traditional Mass. We will be taking pre-publication orders on this missal because of the cost of the book. This limited edition of the book, 1000 copies, should add to the splendor of the liturgy.

So, as you can see from this outline, I am sad about the death of my dear wife and daughter. But I am also looking forward to the building up of the Mystical Body of Christ in our work. I am sure that those family members who have died are looking down upon us now, trying to help us in this project. May we continue praying to them and for them for the complete restoration of our beloved Church. And may you all be blessed in your efforts of helping us in the past. We are not done yet, and thus we must continue working together in spreading the Faith with good Catholic books.
